Episode 484 – Who gets to be disappointed?

This week, Bruce has been working with (and shooting) Australia’s former Governor General, Sir Peter Cosgrove.

If you’re using Adobe Lightroom, here’s 6 things which might help speed things up.
Also, let us know about the default option with regard to .xmp files.

Then, there’s the images from Kilimanjaro of the melting ice towers, highlighting climate changes.

Adam shared this story about the guy who made a camera from 23,248 coffee stirrers!

Then there’s Presetpanda which lets you convert your lightroom presets over to adobe camera raw (and back!).

Apparently, the Leica M9 suffered from corrosion of the sensor, which was blamed on a failure of a protective coating on the sensor.
Turns out, that wasn’t the cause!

Glynn mentioned the Leica Freedom Train. Here’s the wikipedia article for those that are interested.

The GoPro9 was announced this week. This brought the commenters out in full 2020 strength!

Canon is crowd funding a monocular-style camera. Valid approach for a large manufacturer, or not?

He also mentioned Canon’s Epoca camera from back in the day.

We seem to be seeing a lot of interesting/whacky lenses coming to market. Glynn feels these are about the only interesting things happening in the field of new hardware.
Things like the ZY Optics Speedmaster 17/0.95 for M4/3.

I have been a professional audio engineer since the mid 80's and am happy to do for free in my spare time what I get paid to do during the week. I created Shutters Inc in May 2005, and it is today (as best as I can tell) THE longest-running photography podcast in the world.
